Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi recently reflected on his infamous feud with Salman Khan, revealing how it significantly impacted his career. The feud, which dates back to 2003, arose over their mutual connection with Aishwarya Rai, leading to a press conference where Vivek publicly accused Salman of threatening him with multiple phone calls.
In a recent interview, Vivek Oberoi spoke about the aftermath of the conflict, sharing how he faced backlash from powerful figures in the film industry. He mentioned that influential people warned him they would ensure he struggled to find work in Bollywood. Vivek stated, “People would call up and say, ‘We will make sure you don’t work in this industry.’” This confrontation reportedly led to a substantial decline in his career opportunities.
He further said, “I got a lot of success, I was winning a lot of awards in my career and suddenly it evaporated because a bunch of people, who had a lot of power in Bollywood, decided ‘You are not going to work here anymore, we will make sure that happens’. I experienced a lot of frustration and pain and anger and felt like a victim; and I didn’t know how to deal with it. My mom is somebody I really look up to. She’s my hero. And she said ‘Put your attention into being a hero to someone else and you will feel like a hero, you will feel like a winner’… the only way you can transition from being a victim to being hero is by being a hero to someone. So you start finding that someone that you can be a hero to.”
Despite the difficulties, Vivek has continued to work in the industry, focusing on diverse roles in films and web series. Reflecting on his journey, Vivek emphasized the importance of resilience and self-belief, saying, “You need to believe in yourself when no one else does.”
