Actress Sonakshi Sinha opened up about her Bollywood journey, highlighting the challenges she faced due to lack of formal training, during a session at FICCI Frames 2024. Sinha candidly chronicled her foray into the industry, shedding light on the realities of navigating Bollywood without prior professional training.
In her speech, she revealed, “Throughout my career, I have learnt through experience. I started off completely from scratch. I had no experience of being on a film’s set. I never visited my dad on sets when I was a child and I had no training in acting or dancing. I was not groomed for the profession. I was literally thrown into the deep end of the pool and was told to swim. That’s how I learnt.”
Speaking at the event, Sonakshi emphasized the importance of perseverance and self-belief in overcoming obstacles in the fiercely competitive world of Bollywood. She shared personal anecdotes and experiences, providing insights into the struggles and triumphs she encountered along her journey.
Her recent Bollywood movie Double XL was a critical hit. Her story dispels the myth that one’s career path is determined solely by industry contacts and highlights the variety of routes one can take to succeed in Bollywood.
