Veteran actor Shekhar Suman has weighed in on the recent complaints from actors about waiting for long hours on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film sets, particularly for his upcoming series “Heeramandi.” Suman bluntly dismissed the grievances, stating that actors who complain about waiting have no business being in the industry. Suman’s comments come amidst reports of actors expressing frustration over the extended waiting periods on Bhansali’s sets. However, the seasoned actor believes that such complaints reflect poorly on the professionalism of those raising them.
In a recent interview, Shekhar Suman said, “It’s like a soldier waiting for the enemy to attack. He wouldn’t say, ‘I’ve been waiting for 12 hours, now I want to go home’. Does it happen? No, he’s there! Whenever the enemy comes, he starts firing. It doesn’t matter if it’s snowing or if it’s hot. An actor has to have the preparedness of a soldier. Even if Mr Bhansali says you keep doing it for two days, three days, you keep doing it if you’re an actor. You can’t complain about losing your concentration. Then get the hell out, you have no business being an actor.”
The actor’s remarks have sparked a debate within the industry regarding the expectations and challenges actors face while working on high-profile projects.
