Originally released in 2003, the iconic film returned to cinemas as part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations. Considering the limited number of screens, the Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan film earned an outstanding Rs. 2.25 crores in its second week of release. Kal Ho Naa Ho grossed Rs. 1,57,29,762 at PVR Inox theaters, Rs. 38,39,384 at Cinepolis, Rs. 1,88,745 at Miraj, and Rs. 2,88,759 at Moviemax, to break down the total amount made by multiplex chains. In addition, the first week of Nikkhil Advani’s directing debut brought in Rs. 2.05 crores. As a result, its current total is Rs. 4.30 crores.
