A representative for Bollywood star Salman Khan has clarified that he has no involvement with Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show over the tiff created over the comment on Rabindranath Tagore. Salman Khan’s team maintained on Wednesday that they had nothing to do with the legal notification that was sent to the star’s production company about alleged remarks about Rabindranath Tagore that were made on Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show.
According to the legal notification sent by the Bongo Bhashi Mahasabha Foundation, the Nobel laureate was the target of derogatory statements that could have offended religious and cultural feelings. Khan’s agent claimed that the legal warning had been given to the superstar’s production banner, which is untrue because they have nothing to do with The Great Indian Kapil Show.
The representative stated, “The statement from Salman Khan’s team clarifies that the production house is no longer associated with any operations of the show aired on Netflix and is not affected by the legal notice in any way.”
In an earlier response to the legal complaint, Netflix stated that the comedy show is only meant for amusement and that it contains sketches and parodies that are not directed at any specific person or group.
