Vrajesh Hirjee recently revealed an intense moment with Saif Ali Khan while shooting Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (RHTDM). During a heated scene, Saif got so engrossed in his character that he warned Hirjee with a serious, “I’ll kill you!” Instead of backing down, Hirjee matched the energy and retorted, “Come at me!” The situation, however, was purely professional, driven by the actors’ commitment to the script. Reflecting on it now, Hirjee recalls it fondly as an example of Saif’s dedication to authenticity on screen.
During a shot, the actors immersed in the act so much in their characters that the scene got unexpectedly heated up. Hirjee revealed, “During the shoot, I accidentally threw Saif’s expensive blue glasses in the heat of the moment.” Saif disclosed the damage of his glasses during the scene later.
Hirjee further added, “Saif got so charged up that he asked the director to cut the scene, saying, ‘I’ll kiII this guy. Equally pumped, I retorted, ‘Come at me.” The unexpected exchange created a huge fuss and amazement at the time. Though the actors quickly assimilated the situation and moved past it.
Released in 2001, RHTDM has since gained cult status, and anecdotes like this highlight the intensity that went into creating its memorable moments. Both actors recently reunited for a new project, sparking nostalgia for fans of the film.
