Actor Randeep Hooda has voiced his opinion on the lack of acknowledgment towards the legacy of ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ in Bollywood. Expressing his views, Hooda emphasized the importance of recognition and appreciation for historical figures like Savarkar. With a little amount of success, Randeep Hooda’s “Swatantra Veer Savarkar” minted Rs 17 crore since its release. Amit Sial and Ankita Lokhande were also in the movie. Randeep is widely criticized by the industry leaders and film critics for what was seen as his lack of connections and conceit.
He admitted that a lot of people in the industry, especially his old directors have guided him through in the making of the movie. He further stated, “So, I don’t understand what help I’m supposed to ask for. Am I supposed to ask for money? I would love for people to watch my movie, and to not get drowned by the political overtones that it has been assigned.”
Hooda highlighted the significance of acknowledging the contributions and sacrifices made by individuals like Savarkar in shaping the nation’s history. He suggested that sometimes, a simple acknowledgment or pat on the back can go a long way in honoring their efforts and sacrifices.
