Ranbir Kapoor recently shared insights about his role in the much-anticipated Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Speaking at a press interaction, Kapoor revealed that the first part of the mythological epic has been completed. Expressing his gratitude, he said, “I am so humbled and excited to be part of this monumental project.”
Ranbir emphasized the film’s ambitious scale and how it represents a unique opportunity in his career. He praised Tiwari’s vision for retelling the Indian epic, promising audiences an experience that’s both grand and rooted in cultural authenticity. “I am currently working on Ramayana, which is the greatest story around. My childhood friend Namit Malhotra, somebody who is so passionately making this book, has got the best of all the artistes, all the creative people, the crew. It is directed by Nitesh Tiwari.”
Additionally, Ranbir disclosed that he has finished filming the first instalment of the two-part series. He revealed, “It has two parts. I have finished the shooting of Part 1 and will shoot Part 2 soon. Just to be a part of that story, I am so humbled to essay Ram’s role. It’s a dream for me. It’s a film that has everything. It teaches what Indian culture is about — family dynamics and husband-wife dynamics.”
Recently Namit Malhotra also shared his bots on this story, “More than a decade ago, I embarked on a noble quest to bring this epic that has ruled billions of hearts for over 5000 years to the big screen. And today, I am thrilled to see it taking shape beautifully as our teams work tirelessly with only one purpose: to present the most authentic, sacred, and visually stunning adaptation of our history, our truth, and our culture – our “RAMAYANA”– for people across the world.”
Without revealing too many spoilers, Kapoor mentioned the extensive effort the team put into ensuring the adaptation does justice to the story’s timeless appeal.
