Rakul Preet Singh recently opened up about her approach to building a career in the Indian film industry. She shared that there is no “formula” for surviving and thriving, emphasizing the importance of passion, hard work, and resilience. Rakul explained that success in the film industry requires a strong commitment to one’s craft and a willingness to give up personal time.
Rakul said, “There is no formula to sustaining, there is no formula to surviving. Try to keep reinventing yourself. Reinventing is very important,” Rakul also has worked across multiple Indian film industries, including Bollywood, Telugu and Tamil cinema and firmly believes that reinvention goes hand in hand with opportunity. “All of it goes hand in hand… the opportunities you get… also come when people see your hard work. They will see that you will put your 200% when you are on the film set”
She also mentioned how the industry has evolved, providing more diverse opportunities for actors, especially women. Rakul highlighted the importance of continuously experimenting with roles, as seen in her projects like Chhatriwali and Doctor G, where she has embraced unconventional characters. She believes in staying true to her artistic values while making commercial films, stating, “I want to do everything because as an actor, you get to be different people in different films.”
