Nawazuddin Siddiqui has come forward to support Ranveer Singh, who faced criticism from actors Jim Sarbh and Prashant Narayanan regarding his acting process in the film “Padmaavat.” In a recent interview, Nawazuddin praised Ranveer for his dedication and commitment to his craft, emphasizing that every actor has their unique approach to embodying a character.
Jim Sarbh and Prashant Narayanan had previously expressed their opinions on Ranveer’s intense method acting for his role as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmaavat,” suggesting that it might not have been necessary. In response, Nawazuddin highlighted the importance of respecting each actor’s process, stating that the final performance on screen is what truly matters.
Nawazuddin stated, “The people who are calling it fake, did they bother to understand the actor’s process? Did they bother to understand how he was living his life when he was creating the character? They are simply judging him. We don’t know what a man is thinking when he’s coming up with a characterization.”
Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of Alauddin Khilji was widely acclaimed and earned him several awards and nominations. Nawazuddin’s support underscores the idea that different actors have different methods and that these should be respected within the industry.
