Nawazuddin Siddiqui Criticizes Mindless Action Films, Questions Unrealistic Heroism

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently shared his views on the current trend of mindless action films, expressing his confusion over the portrayal of heroes in such movies. In a candid conversation, Nawazuddin revealed that he finds it “strange” when heroines fall in love with heroes who can single-handedly beat up 25 people. He pointed out the unrealistic nature of these scenarios, which have become a common trope in commercial films.

In a candid discussion in The Majlis Show, Nawazuddin was asked about the stereotypical hero ‘entry shot’, and he answered, “To tell you the truth, I find it very boring. He (the hero) will save everyone, he will save the world. And the girl will also fall in love with him even if he doesn’t have any other quality. A lot of times in these movies, we don’t know how he makes money, what he does for a living, but the girl is still crazy for him because he looks nice and the girl understands only this quality, or he saves her from the goons. He beats up 15-20-25 people and the girl gets impressed.”

He also added, “I still don’t understand the reason as to why the girl is impressed with a guy who beats up 25 people. Is she impressed because he has beaten people up? That’s such a strange thing.”

The Sacred Games actor emphasized that he prefers more meaningful stories over exaggerated action sequences. While he acknowledged the entertainment value of such films, Nawazuddin believes that characters and narratives should be more grounded in reality.
