Renowned Ghazal maestro, Pankaj Udhas died at the age of 72 and bid farewell to the world due to a prolonged illness – Pancreatic Cancer. He passed away peacefully on February 26 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. His family and team have confirmed the news.
The Indian Hindi singer who delivered many popular songs like ‘Chitti Aayi Hai’, ‘Jeeye Toh Jeeye Kaise’, and ‘Chupke Chupke, and many other soulful renditions, has left a lasting impact on the Indian music industry. The news of his demise has left fans and the music fraternity in mourning.
Pankaj Udhas’s funeral ceremony is scheduled to take place in Mumbai. The exact details of the location and timing are yet to be disclosed.
Padmashri Pankaj Udhas’s daughter, Nayaab Udhas, posted a confirming statement on Instagram confirming his death. “With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to a prolonged illness. Udhas family (sic)”. The family will be holding the funeral service on Tuesday, February 27, in Mumbai.
