Kangana Ranaut recently stirred controversy by accusing Bollywood of being envious of talented actors. In a recent statement, the outspoken actress claimed that the industry often resorts to “dirty PR tactics” to tarnish the image of those who are genuinely skilled. Kangana shared her frustrations over how certain actors, despite their abilities, face deliberate attempts to damage their reputations.
The actress did not hold back, alleging that Bollywood insiders feel threatened by talented individuals who do not fit into the typical mold. She mentioned that jealousy is prevalent, with people using negative publicity to undermine the work of gifted performers. According to Kangana, this jealousy leads to unnecessary feuds and a toxic environment that prevents deserving actors from getting their due recognition. She said, “Bollywood is, honestly I am saying, it is a very hopeless place. Kuch nahi hone wala inka. Ek toh talent se ye jalte hain. Jo bhi inko talented dikhta hain na uske piche pad ke ya toh usko khatam kar dete hain unka career barbaad kar dete hain unko boycott kar dete hain. Itna ganda PR kar kar ke unko badnaam karte hain (Nothing will happen with them. They are jealous of talent. If they see someone talented they go after them to destroy their career. Horrible PR is written on them and they are boycotted from the industry).”
Kangana Ranaut, meanwhile, discussed turning down parts that Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ranbir Kapoor offered her in a different interview with Siddharth Kannan. She said in Tanu Weds Manu Returns that she didn’t think the roles they gave her were substantial enough.
