Actor Jaideep Ahlawat recently shared his views on nepotism in Bollywood, stating that star kids have a natural advantage as they grow up in a film environment. In an interview, he explained that children of film stars are exposed to the industry from a young age, which helps them understand the profession better.
The Paatal Lok actor referred to Alia as a “brilliant actress” in an interview with ANI, asking how she would feel when she saw remarks labeling her a “nepo kid”.
“They must have their own struggles,” the actor said, when asked if it’s her fault that she was born into Mahesh Bhatt’s family. Alia is an incredibly talented actress. What if she spent her days reading comments like “nepo kid, nepo kid”? That must feel very weird. “Uski koi galti hai,” you mean that Mahesh Bhatt is still alive? (Is she to blame? A child who begins viewing and talking about movies at the age of three or four will inevitably have a greater understanding of the industry.
He added, “People say she is a product of nepotism, but look at the amount of work she has put in. She didn’t sit at home thinking her dad is a filmmaker.” He praised her dedication and consistent hard work.
The Pataal Lok actor also pointed out that while outsiders have to struggle more to learn the craft, it doesn’t mean star kids don’t work hard. He emphasized that talent and perseverance matter in the long run.
