Kareena Kapoor has just recreated OG Madhuri Dixit’s iconic song in Bollywood’s latest movie – ‘Choli ke Peeche Kya Hai’ and since its release few days back it has again sparked controversies. But this time, it is a bit different.
The song was originally sung by renowned singer Ila Arun and after the remix hit the online platforms, she has expressed her disappointment over the remix of her iconic song ‘Choli’ in the movie ‘Crew.’ Reacting to the remix, Ila Arun questioned the trend of rehashing classic tracks instead of creating original music.
She said, “I would be in no position to refuse, but ethically, it’s wrong. If they had just spoken to me about it, it would have felt good. She continued, “They say it’s a new thing to reach out to the younger generation. But why should we? You don’t have to give them what they are looking for. Why can’t they just create their own number?”
She concluded her short byte by saying, “In my opinion, if you want to recreate, you should work with the original artists and keep them in the loop. And if you are making any profit, then they also should get compensation for it.” The singer’s remarks reflect a growing sentiment in the music industry, where remixes often overshadow original compositions. Arun’s plea for creativity and innovation highlights the need for artists and creators to explore new avenues and push the boundaries of music production
