Renowned music director Vipin Reshammiya, father of singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya, has passed away at the age of 87. Vipin Reshammiya was a prominent figure in the Indian music industry, particularly known for his work in Gujarati films. He was celebrated for his rich musical legacy, leaving behind a significant impact on the industry.
Himesh Reshammiya shared the news of his father’s demise with a heartfelt message, expressing his deep grief and love for his father. Vipin Reshammiya was a guiding force in Himesh’s life, helping him navigate his career in the music industry. The family is said to be in mourning, with Himesh recalling the invaluable lessons and support his father provided throughout his life. Vanita Thapar, a close friend of the Reshammiya family, verified the news and said Vipin had respiratory issues in an interview with The Times of India. She informed Himesh’s family that he died at 8:30 p.m. and described herself as “more like family.” “I used to call him (Vipin) papa since the time he was making TV serials,” Vanita remarked. According to the source, Vipin Reshammiya’s last ceremonies would take place in Juhu on Thursday.
In the 1990s, Vipin played a key role in introducing Salman Khan, the movie star, to his son Himesh. With a few songs in Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Himesh and Salman began a lengthy collaboration that resulted in music for movies like Dulhan Hum.
