Farhan Akhtar Casts Ranveer Singh for Don 3 For A Next Generation Factor

Farhan Akhtar recently shared his thoughts on casting Ranveer Singh for the highly anticipated Don 3. According to the Farhan Akhtar, the filmmaker of the movie, the decision to have Ranveer take on the iconic role was driven by the need for a fresh, next-generation actor who could bring a new energy to the franchise.

Farhan Akhtar, who directed the first two films in the Don series starring Shah Rukh Khan, expressed his excitement about the new direction the franchise is taking. He explained, “The script for Don 3 called for a younger actor who could connect with today’s audience while bringing his unique charisma to the character. Ranveer fits that bill perfectly with his dynamic personality and versatility.”

Farhan concluded by saying, “The kind of script that we were writing, what I wanted to do with it… It’s too early to speak about it unfortunately so I can’t into into details but it needed this next-generation actor in it. He is mischievous, just full of energy, which is what these needs and he is… I feel when it comes to this aspect of his performance, it’s still untapped. Like I don’t think he has done a role like this.”

Akhtar acknowledged the challenge of following in Amitabh Bachchan’s and Shah Rukh Khan’s footsteps, who previously made the role his own. However, he emphasized his confidence in Ranveer’s ability to bring something different and exciting to the table.
