Filmmaker Aditya Dhar, known for his high-octane patriotic films like “Uri: The Surgical Strike” and the upcoming “The Immortal Ashwatthama,” has addressed criticisms labeling his movies as “agenda-driven.” In a recent interview, Dhar firmly stood by his work, emphasizing artistic freedom and audience response.

In an interview, he shared the fact that never pay heed to people calling his films ‘agenda-driven film filled with jingoism.’ He also thanked the audience unlike the critics to understand the difference between agenda driven film and a cinema that is made with great intent. He emphasized the importance of artistic expression, stating that no filmmaker should be restricted by labels as long as they’re telling their story honestly.

Addressing specifically the criticism towards “Uri,” Dhar argued that the film’s success speaks for itself. The audience embraced it with open arms, noting the movie’s critical acclaim, discussion the notion of women empowerment and box office records. He added, “Ultimately, it’s the audience who decides if a film is good or bad, not labels.”

Dhar also defended his upcoming film, “The Immortal Ashwatthama,” based on the mythological warrior from the Mahabharata. He maintained that while inspired by mythology, the story explores universal themes of love, loss, and redemption, appealing to a wider audience.
