Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn have expressed concerns about the lack of unity in the current generation of actors in the industry. Both actors believe that the fragmented nature of the industry is affecting its growth, while they noted that South Indian cinema stands united and is thriving because of that collective spirit. Hindi film legends Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn recently discussed the fundamental distinctions between the two sectors in an interview at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. Akshay added, “I agree that we don’t have much unity,” and Ajay immediately agreed. Speaking about the South business, the Singham Again actor remarked, “I truly appreciate how they stand together as an industry, which honestly, we lack here.”
Ajay described how the more senior performers continue to support one another, saying, “Whether it’s Salman, Shah Rukh, Akshay, me, etc. We support one another. For example, we would answer the phone to see what we could do if Akshay and my films were coming out on the same day.”
Akshay mentioned that while there is significant talent among younger actors, Bollywood’s current phase of disunity has made it difficult for Hindi cinema to compete. Ajay further emphasized the need for industry-wide collaboration to overcome challenges.
