Ashutosh Gowariker Named ‘Honorary Chairman’ of 10th Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival

Renowned filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has been appointed as the ‘honorary chairman’ for the 10th Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival. The event, which celebrates the rich heritage and culture of India through cinema, will take place in Aurangabad from January 11 to 15, 2024. Gowariker, known for his epic films like Lagaan and Jodhaa Akbar, expressed his excitement at being part of the festival.

The festival, which is slated to take place in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) from January 15 to 19, 2025, will feature the filmmaker.

In a press release, Gowariker expressed his excitement about being named the honorary chairman and about the notable directors who would be actively involved in the festival, such as Chandrakant Kulkarni, Jayprad Desai, Dnyanesh Zoting, and now Festival Director Sunil Sukthankar.

The Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival, now in its 10th year, aims to bring together filmmakers, artists, and cinema lovers from across the globe to celebrate the power of storytelling. With Gowariker at the helm, the festival is expected to gain more prominence and attract a larger audience, further enhancing the cultural experience.
