AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu, after 29 years of marriage, have officially announced their separation. The couple’s lawyer, Vandana Shah revealed that tensions, emotional strain, and unmanageable differences led to this painful decision. The lawyer also stated that the couple’s deep love for each other was overshadowed by growing personal challenges.
Vandana explained the reasons behind so much Bollywood divorces, “I just think their demands are crazy… not only in terms of money…” She further explained, “I think the reasons behind their divorces are also quiet different. They break off over creative differences, ideologies, affiliation to different political parties, different ideas about upbringing of a child. Where a common man mostly makes adjustments over these things with their partners, Bollywood couple don’t because they both have voices and none of them want to adjust.”
She revealed, “They have a lot of behind the camera fights, but in front of media, they all want to go with amicable thing. For them, privacy is very important.”
Both Rahman and Banu have asked for privacy and understanding as they navigate this difficult time.
