Alia Bhatt in Discussion for Gurinder Chadha’s Disney Musical About Indian Princess

Actress Alia Bhatt is reportedly in talks for a significant role in an upcoming Disney musical helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Gurinder Chadha. The project is said to revolve around the story of an Indian princess, offering a unique blend of culture and entertainment. According to sources, Alia Bhatt is being considered for the lead role in the Disney musical, which marks a significant collaboration between Bollywood and Hollywood. The film is expected to showcase the richness of Indian heritage and traditions on a global platform.

The two even got together in January of this year, according to a report in Mid-Day, when the director traveled to India to attend the wedding of Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira. A person familiar with the situation told the daily, “The two have been in talks for a while. The final casting will happen only after the script is developed, but Alia is among the top casting choices.”

Gurinder Chadha, known for her culturally rich storytelling, in Bend It Like Beckham (2002) and Bride & Prejudice (2004) is set to helm the project, adding her unique touch to the narrative. Her directing and Alia’s acting prowess will be a great watch on big screen as the former one is already on-board Disney to direct an original musical feature, inspired by a dynamic princess from Indian roots.
