Akshay Kumar’s latest film, Kesari Chapter 2, has captivated audiences since its release on April 18, 2025. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the courtroom drama delves into the life of C. Sankaran Nair, a prominent lawyer and freedom fighter who challenged British colonial rule following the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film is based on the book The Case That Shook the Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
The movie features a stellar cast, including R. Madhavan as British advocate Neville McKinley and Ananya Panday as journalist Dilreet Gill. Supporting roles are portrayed by Simon Paisley Day, Regina Cassandra, Alexx O’Nell, Amit Sial, Krish Rao, and Steven Hartley.
