Akshay Kumar to Star in Remake of Nana Patekar-Raaj Kumar’s Classic ‘Tirangaa’?

In an exciting development for Bollywood fans, reports suggest that Akshay Kumar has signed on to star in the remake of the 1993 patriotic action film Tirangaa, originally featuring legendary actors Nana Patekar and Raaj Kumar. The original film, directed by Mehul Kumar, became iconic for its intense dialogues, powerful performances, and strong patriotic themes.

Akshay Kumar, known for his love of action-packed roles and patriotic films, seems to be a perfect fit for this remake. On the other hand, the identity of the film’s director is currently unknown.

Another source informed us that although Narendra Hirawat owns the film’s rights, he is not the owner of the title. Mehul Kumar, who produced and directed the first movie, is the owner of the title rights. But Mehul Kumar hasn’t given up the title. Consequently, the movie may go by a different name.

The original Tirangaa was a major hit, remembered for its memorable characters and strong nationalistic message. With Akshay Kumar’s involvement, expectations are high that the remake will bring a fresh yet nostalgic experience to viewers.

Following the publication of the article, Narendra Hirawat made an exclusive comment to Bollywood Hungama, saying “In the last few days, there have been a few media reports stating that we are producing a remake of the film Tirangaa with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead. We would like to hereby affirm that this news is completely baseless and untrue. Yes, we are indeed producing a film with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead, but we would like to categorically state that it is NOT a remake of any film. It is a completely new and original script. An official announcement regarding the same will be made soon.”

While official confirmation from Akshay or the production house is awaited, fans are already excited at the prospect of seeing the superstar in a role that honors a classic piece of Bollywood history.
