Ajay Devgn’s highly awaited film Maidaan has received approval from the Indian censor board without undergoing any cuts. The news comes as a testament to the film’s engaging storyline and respectful portrayal of its subject matter.
Directed by Amit Sharma, Maidaan is a sports drama, a biopic movie that revolves around the golden era of Indian football. The film features Ajay Devgn in the lead role, portraying the legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.
The board has requested to include a statement before commencing the film, “the film is a work of fiction inspired by true events available in the public domain, views of the legendary football players, and research of writers with fictional elements.”
The duration of the film is 181.30 minutes, or three hours, one minute, and thirty seconds. The story of Maidaan tells the real life saga of Rahim, the coach of the Indian football team who won two gold medals in the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962. Other co-stars of Maidaan are Gajrao Rao, Priyamani, along with Ajay Devgn.
The film’s producers are Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla. Manoj Muntashir Shukla wrote the lyrics for the movie, which AR Rahman provided the music for.
