Veteran actress Himani Shivpuri recently opened up about her troubling experience with Alok Nath, known for his “sanskaari” image, who was accused of sexual assault in 2018. Himani recalled an incident when Alok Nath misbehaved with her, revealing his contrasting personalities. She described him as being “like Jekyll and Hyde,” referring to his dual nature.
Himani shared that during the shooting of a film, Alok Nath, who appeared polite and well-mannered in public, behaved inappropriately with her in private. She felt uncomfortable around him and remembered how he would sometimes make unwelcome advances. She revealed, “I have done a lot of work with him in the past and the thing with him is that when he is not drinking, then he is sanskari. His personality was like that of Jekyll and Hyde,” she said.
Shivpuri continued, “Apart from one incident in NSD, I have never faced any problem with him. But, I would hear from people that he was a different person after a few drinks.” Despite his image as a cultured and respectable man, she found his behavior off-screen to be quite the opposite. She added, “He was an alcoholic, shameless and obnoxious but he was also the television star of that decade, so not only was he forgiven for all his bad behaviour, many of the guys would also egg him on to be his worst.”
Her revelation adds another layer to the ongoing discussion about harassment in the entertainment world.
