Aamir Khan is set to return to the big screen with a new rugged appearance in his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par. This Hindi-language sports drama, directed by R.S. Prasanna, is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par and is inspired by the Spanish film Champions (2018).
In this film, Khan portrays a coach who trains a team of players with disabilities for the Special Olympics. Unlike the emotional tone of Taare Zameen Par, this movie adopts a humorous approach while still addressing themes of individuality and diversity. Khan has mentioned that while his previous film made audiences cry, this one aims to make them laugh.
The cast includes Genelia Deshmukh and Darsheel Safary. Filming concluded in December 2024, and the movie is currently in post-production, with a theatrical release scheduled for June 20, 2025.
Sitaare Zameen Par is anticipated to be a heartfelt and entertaining film that continues Khan’s tradition of addressing meaningful social issues through cinema. As per the latest reports, the theatrical release is scheduled for June 20, 2025.
