Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has decided to delay the release of his much-anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par. Initially slated for an earlier premiere, the film will now hit theaters around mid-2025. Aamir, who is producing and starring in the movie, is reportedly taking extra time to ensure the project meets his high standards of storytelling and execution.
“We are coming to the post-production later this month. We would be ready to release the film in the middle of next year,” Aamir told Deadline while attending the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah.
Despite being a sequel to Taare Zameen Par, the superstar clarified that Sitaare Zameen Par will not include the same cast of characters. “The plot, situation, and cast of characters are all entirely new. It is a thematic sequel to Taare Zameen Par, he clarified.
Aamir also talked about a number of forthcoming projects that fall under his production umbrella. He disclosed ideas for Lahore 1947, which will feature Sunny Deol and be helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi. He also said that he is producing the movie Ek Din, which stars Sai Pallavi and is directed by his son Junaid Khan.
