In a candid conversation with Kareena Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha opened up about her debut in Bollywood with Dabangg, calling it a daunting experience that resembled an “arranged marriage.” Despite the initial nervousness, Sonakshi shared how the movie, directed by Abhinav Kashyap and starring Salman Khan, quickly turned into a life-changing moment. She recalled the pressure of stepping into such a big project with a massive fan following but noted that Salman Khan’s guidance and support helped her navigate the challenge.
She revealed to Kareena, “I had lost all the weight at that time.” Her presence impressed the Khan brothers, who indicated she would be ideal for a part they were writing. Sonakshi, a student of fashion design at the time, didn’t take the discussion seriously, though. “They told me they were writing something and thought I’d be perfect for the role. I never took them seriously.”
Sonakshi also revealed that she wasn’t initially prepared for the stardom that followed her role as Rajjo in Dabangg. The success of the film brought an overwhelming amount of attention, and she was taken aback by how quickly her life transformed. But looking back, she embraced the “arranged marriage” analogy, appreciating how the film and her career have grown together.
