Anurag Basu Considers Aamir Khan for Kishore Kumar Biopic Allegedly

Barfi director, Anurag Basu is reportedly in talks with Aamir Khan for an upcoming biopic on the legendary singer Kishore Kumar. According to sources, Basu recently approached the Bollywood superstar, known for his dedication to roles to discuss the possibility of playing the iconic singer-actor.

One insider source revealed, “The Kishore Kumar biopic is a subject close to the heart of Anurag Basu and Bhushan Kumar and they are looking to bring it to the spectacle in the best possible way. Aamir Khan is also a big admirer of Kishore Kumar and loved the vision that Basu has to bring the life of legend to the spectacle. The filmmaker has treated it very differently, and that’s what has fascinated Aamir the most.”

The project, which has been in the works for several years, aims to depict Kishore Kumar’s life, career, and extraordinary journey in the Indian entertainment industry. Basu has always been keen on making a biopic that does justice to Kishore Kumar’s legacy, and he believes that Aamir, with his versatile acting skills, could be a perfect fit for the role.

It is anticipated that Anurag Basu, who would begin production on the drama starring Triptii Dimri and Kartik Aaryan, will complete it by April 2025. And if all goes as planned, he would reportedly start working on the Kishore Kumar biopic right away after that.
