Bollywood actress Vidya Balan recently shared her views on purchasing a dream home, emphasizing the importance of a “kismet connection” or destiny. In an interview, Vidya spoke about her own experience, explaining that finding the perfect home is more than just a financial or practical decision—it involves a deeper, personal connection.
The actress revealed that she and her husband, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, took their time before settling on their dream home. For her, it wasn’t just about the property itself but about the sense of belonging and comfort she felt when stepping into the space. At the 22nd Credai Natcon convention in Sydney, Balan addressed 1,100 real estate developers. “You walk into a house, and you know it’s yours,” Balan said.

She remembered going house searching with her mother about fifteen years ago. “I wanted to live in Bandra or Juhu because it was closer to my place of employment, and it took a lot of time to travel back and forth” to Chembur. Born and raised in Mumbai but with origins in Palghat, Balan stated, “We looked at various places, but there was one particular house we liked, but it was far above our budget.” She concluded at the end, “I actually bought the house and that is why I say it is a kismet connection. When I walked into the house, it felt like my home.”
