Rishab Shetty, the talented actor-director known for his work in the hit Kannada film Kantara, recently shared his thoughts on working in Bollywood. While he expressed interest in joining the Hindi film industry, Rishab revealed there’s one important condition he’d need met before taking the leap. He emphasized that he is open to Bollywood offers but only if the role aligns with his values and principles.
Rishab explained that he prefers to be part of projects that highlight India’s culture and traditions. He said, “My priority is the Kannada industry. It has given me such a big opportunity. There is no language barrier today and people recognize your work here. It has become Indian cinema now, thanks to the change. If the opportunity is good, I’ll work (in Hindi films).”
Just after winning the endearing National Award, the actor-director honestly said, “Indian films, especially Bollywood, show India in a bad light. These art films are invited to global events and given a red carpet. My nation, my state, my language—my pride. Why not take it on a positive note globally, and that’s what I try to do.”
Hope, this last addition or request will be taken positively by Bollywood directors and producers. And yet, it remains to be seen which Bollywood project will meet his condition and feature him in the Hindi film industry.
