Veteran actress Saira Banu is joyfully celebrating the re-release of the classic Bollywood film “Padosan”, which holds a special place in her heart. The film, first released in 1968, marks a significant milestone as it also symbolizes Banu’s return to cinema after her marriage.
Reflecting on the shoot, Banu recalled the fun and laughter that made the experience memorable. She shared, “There were moments when I couldn’t stop laughing, and we had to pause filming because of it.” The film, known for its comedic brilliance and musical numbers, showcased Banu’s vibrant acting skills alongside co-stars like Sunil Dutt and Kishore Kumar.
She emphasized in her Instagram post how much she “loved and enjoyed every minute” of working on the film and included movie posters in her post. She further disclosed that Saira Banu, who was 22 at the time, gave up her profession after being married to actor Dilip Kumar on October 11, 1966. But because Mehmood kept pushing her, it was this movie that saw her return to acting.
The re-release of this beloved classic gives both old fans and new audiences a chance to enjoy its timeless humor and Banu’s captivating performance once again.
