Gulshan Devaiah recently shared his thoughts on the underperformance of the Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Ulajh at the box office. Despite the film’s anticipation and its intriguing storyline, Ulajh did not perform as expected, prompting Devaiah to reflect on the film’s journey and the challenges faced by the industry. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has only made an India nett collection of Rs 2.9 crore in the two days since its release: Rs 1.15 crore on Friday and Rs 1.75 crore on Saturday. Due to the film’s lukewarm reviews, its current global gross of Rs 3.75 crore is projected to remain unchanged in the next days.
Devaiah, who played a significant role in the film, emphasized the importance of embracing the struggle inherent in the filmmaking process. He stated, “The ones who don’t embrace the struggle… will not last long,” highlighting the resilience required to thrive in the entertainment industry. He believes that while success is celebrated, it is the ability to persist through difficulties that truly defines an artist.
Devaiah pointed out that obstacles must be overcome in order to succeed. He wrote on X, “Struggle is the salt that makes success taste good. The ones who don’t embrace the struggle will never achieve anything worthwhile. This is a tough business. Period.”
