In a recent revelation, director David Dhawan shared an interesting behind-the-scenes story about his 2007 hit film Partner. According to Dhawan, Salman Khan initially wasn’t too enthusiastic about working with Govinda in the film. This came as a surprise to many fans, considering the tremendous on-screen chemistry the two actors displayed in the movie.
David Dhawan, known for his successful collaborations with both Salman Khan and Govinda, disclosed that convincing Salman was not straightforward. “Salman wasn’t keen initially,” Dhawan said, emphasizing that the actor had reservations about the pairing. However, Dhawan was determined to bring the two stars together, believing in their potential to create a blockbuster.
David Dhawan discussed how he presented the concept to producer Sohail Khan during the casting of the 2007 blockbuster movie Partner. He said, “Can we take Govinda and Salman bhai?” Salman Khan himself wasn’t initially thrilled with the idea, but Sohail Khan was. David remembered telling Salman Khan, “Come yaar, let’s do it, it will be a big thing.”
Salman and David had a straight conversation during the film’s Bangkok shoot when he said, “David yaar, isse ladna. “Fayda nahi hai.”
