Actress Katrina Kaif recently reflected on the pivotal films that have shaped her career trajectory. She mentioned several movies, including Welcome, Namastey London, and Singh Is Kinng, which played a significant role in her journey in Bollywood. In a recent interview, Katrina Kaif opened up about the films that marked turning points in her career. She highlighted how these back to back Blockbuster hit films with Akshay Kumar among many others helped to raise her career, making her a prominent Bollywood actress. She was candidly acknowledging their impact on her professional growth.
While talking about her recent movie with Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathy she praised the story, which is based on Frédéric Dard’s French novel Le Monte-charge (Bird in a Cage) and said “I was in love with the book. It was everything you wanted in this space. It was tender, poetic, it had that very mysterious Hitchcockian quality to it. It had drama, it had mystery, it had murder, it had everything in the most unique and novel way,” Kaif told Variety during a recent chat.
She continued, “There’s a certain rawness and realness to the characters in his films when you watch them on screen. They’re very flawed, they’re very imperfect, but there’s like a tangible, humane quality about them. They feel very real, like I’ve seen this person or I know this person. He has a certain grip on having something relatable to what he depicts on screen, even though sometimes the situations are so outlandish, but yet the characters are so you can feel you can understand what they’re going through, and you relate to their emotions.”
Kaif’s portrayal in these movies earned her acclaim and established her as a prominent figure in the industry. The actress expressed gratitude for the opportunities she received and the experiences that contributed to her evolution as an artist.
