Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has delivered a candid yet heartfelt statement, throwing shade at male actors in the industry while emphasizing the progress made in filmmaking standards. Balan’s remarks reflect her perspective on the evolving landscape of Indian cinema. In her statement, 45-year-old actress, Vidya Balan expressed confidence in the quality of films being produced, asserting that the industry is advancing towards better storytelling and content. She suggested that some male actors may feel threatened by the rise of such films.
She stated, “Back in the day? I don’t think they’d be okay, even today, to star in a Vidya Balan film or a female-led film for that matter. It’s their loss honestly because we are doing better films than they are. I genuinely believe that. They are doing more formulae-based films, women-led films are far more exciting.”
From a professional standpoint, Vidya Balan’s upcoming film is Do Aur Do Pyaar. April 19, 2024, is when the movie, which also stars Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, is supposed to be released.
