Mumbai Police have apprehended a fake casting agent for allegedly scamming Akshay Kumar’s production house. The con artist reportedly posed as a casting agent and duped aspiring actors by promising them roles in films produced by Kumar’s company. The scam came to light when several aspiring actors approached the police after realizing they had been deceived by the fake casting agent. They alleged that they were asked to pay hefty sums of money in exchange for roles in upcoming films.
Upon investigation, Mumbai Police arrested the alleged conman, Prince Kumar Sinha, 29 years old, who had been operating under the guise of a casting agent for Akshay Kumar’s production house. As part of a plot to scam social media influencer Pooja Anandani, he was reportedly detained by Mumbai’s Juhu police station for trying to mislead Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, by giving her a job.
The social media influencer, Pooja was able to stop the scam attempt by alerting the authorities right away. The Juhu police disclosed that the offender, disguising himself as Rohan Mehra enticed Pooja with fictitious job offers and a film project purportedly linked to the Nirbhaya case, setting up a meeting in Juhu at JW Marriott Hotel.
The police are now probing the extent of the fraud and are urging others who may have fallen victim to come forward and report their experiences.
