Actress Sargun Mehta has candidly expressed her feelings about her experience in Bollywood following her role in Cuttputlli alongside Akshay Kumar. Mehta shared that despite her potential, she felt underutilized and overlooked by the industry.
In an interview, Mehta revealed that she was disappointed by the lack of opportunities and meaningful roles offered to her after Cuttputlli. Despite delivering a noteworthy performance in the film, she believes Bollywood failed to recognize and tap into her full potential as an actor.
In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Sargun Mehta revealed, “They haven’t tapped on my potential because I have a lot of potential. I did Cuttputili because I thought I could do more than just do a glamourous heroine role as I have done before. In the role that I have done in Cuttputili, I didn’t have a similar option in Punjab. For the past 6-7 years, I have not done such roles and I thought that I should be doing such roles otherwise I’ll forget acting.”
Mehta’s remarks shed light on the challenges faced by actors in Bollywood, particularly those trying to break into the industry and carve a niche for themselves. Her experience highlights the importance of meaningful roles and opportunities for actors to showcase their talent and versatility.
